The Carts Bog Inn at Langley is a traditional country pub located in The North Pennines. The pub is renowned throughout the region for its fine food, exceptional range of ales and stunning panoramic views. High beamed ceilings and a traditional stone fireplace create the ideal location to enjoy the local produce and exceptional range of ales on offer.
With a dog friendly bar area, pool room, extensive garden and dining area the pub offers something for everyone. Whether you’re visiting for a meal or just popping in for a drink you can enjoy a range of local real ales, a selection of gin, or try one of over 80 whiskeys on offer from around the world.
We can cater for any event; weddings, funerals, parties, private dining or a family meal. We can also provide offsite catering for functions, including hog-roast and outside bars.
The Carts Bog Inn dates back to 1775 and was originally built as a coaching inn, currently the old cow byre now houses the restaurant. The name Carts Bog is believed to have come about after carts carrying minerals from the Alston Lead and Silver mines would get stuck in local bogs and the coaching inn was opened to offer the drivers warmth and a hearty meal.
